Donations pour in for unborn Victoria boy after mother suffers brain death
A Vancouver Island community is rallying to support an unborn boy and his father, after the child’s pregnant mother suffered a catastrophic brain hemorrhage.
Robyn Benson was five months pregnant on Dec. 28, when she awoke with a piercing headache. Her husband, Dylan, left to go get painkillers, but returned to find her unconscious on the bathroom floor.
Robyn was rushed to hospital in Victoria, but doctors said the damage to her brain was irreparable. She was declared brain dead the following day.
