Bobby Solhi is a tax lawyer and partner at TaxChambers LLP. Mr. Solhi has a broad legal practice focused on taxation law and related matters. As a tax lawyer, Mr. Solhi regularly advises clients on corporate/commercial and personal tax in the course of transactions or an advisory capacity. His practice is inclusive of all income tax as well as indirect taxes such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), customs and trade, and Ontario provincial taxes (land transfer tax, tobacco tax, and other commodity taxes). Mr. Solhi also represents clients in tax disputes such as tax objections, tax appeals, and litigation before the various tax authorities and, where necessary, the court system.
Mr. Solhi has previously served as a Legislation Design Specialist to the Tax Policy Division of the Ontario Ministry of Finance where he was a trusted advisor and key contributor to several high profile projects in tax administration, policy design, and tax law reform.
Prior to his time at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Solhi was a member at one of Canada’s largest tax law firms where he worked in domestic and international tax planning, estate and succession planning, and tax dispute resolution and litigation.
